El Jefe Johnson received his Ph.D. from the University of Kansas and did a postdoc with Curt Lively at Indiana. He is currently the Interim Dean of Sciences and Professor of Biological Sciences at UNO. He is an evolutionary ecologist intrigued by why sex occurs and how coevolutionary interactions shape prey diversification. Click here for his life story |

Johel Chaves joined the lab in February 2009 as a postdoc after obtaining his Ph.D. degree from Purdue University in December 2008. He obtained his M.Sc. and bachelor degrees in Zoology at the University of Costa Rica and is interested in behavior, evolution and conservation. Visit Johel’s webpage |

Lyndon Coghil is a PhD. student in Conservation Biology at UNO. His research focuses heavily in the fields of invasive species, evolution and molecular ecology. He is interested in the rapid evolutionary changes that occur when a species is introduced into a new environment. He strives to understand both the molecular as well as morphological changes between both introduced and native species so that we better understand how to prevent and stop invasive species in the future. Laura Vogel entered the Johnson lab in Fall 2001 and graduated from the Conservation Biology program in Summer 2007. Laura's dissertation research examined the synergistic effects of two immedidate threats to global biodiversity, habitat disturbance and invasive species, on changes in two toad species' distributions. Laura is currently a postdoc in the Haddad lab at NC State.. |
