The Doctoral program in Conservation Biology is designed to prepare students for careers in Conservation Biology through a rigorous, integrated program of course work and research. Course work in several areas of Conservation Biology and related fields provide students with broad knowledge of current issues, techniques, and questions in the field. Independent research is performed under the guidance of a faculty mentor to develop specialization in a particular area of Conservation Biology. Student research projects benefit from access to a variety of on-campus and off-campus resources and collaborations. Student research culminates in the preparation and defense of a dissertation, which should reflect a substantial and new contribution to the science of Conservation Biology. |
