RESEARCH INTERESTS

I am interested in the interactions between ecology, history and demography. These interactions are crucial to our understanding of the patterns and processes that shape biological diversity yet are generally poorly understood. My current research can be divided into three major programmatic areas: (a) evolutionary diversification of African rainforest mammals (b) comparative molecular evolutionary dynamics of nuclear integrations of mitochondrial DNA in African great apes (c) impact of fragmentation on genetic diversity and disease resistance in island reptiles.
