RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research is primarily focused on understanding the role of species ecology and landscape history in shaping patterns of evolutionary diversification and genetic variability. Currently, work in my lab can be divided into three major programmatic areas: (a) evolutionary diversification of African rainforest mammals and Malgasy butterflies (b) evolutionary dynamics of nuclear integrations of mitochondrial DNA in African great apes (c) impact of fragmentation on genetic diversity and disease resistance in island reptiles.
